חברת מוצרי גומי בסין החלה בשיווק קונדומים תחת שם המותג 'קלינטון ולוינסקי'.
דובר חברת 'Guangzhou Rubber Group' אמר כי החברה תחלק חינם 100,000 קונדומים 'קלינטון ולוינסקי' כחלק מקידום מכירות שמטרתו העלאת המודעות בקרב הצרכנים למוצר החדש.
עוד הוסיף ואמר כי החברה בחרה להשתמש בשמו של קלינטון מאחר והצרכנים רואים בנשיא ה-42 של ארצות הברית אדם אחראי, שרוצה להדגיש את חשיבות הסקס הבטוח כדרך יעילה למניעת התפשטות וירוס ה-HIV.
“The names we chose are symbols of people who are responsible and dedicated to their jobs,” he said. “I believe Bill Clinton cannot be unhappy about this because he’s a very generous man.”
Clinton has campaigned aggressively for heightened AIDS awareness in China, where the disease is spreading rapidly. He was accused of having a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, a former White House intern.
